Amy Houghton

From a very young age art has always been a favourite pastime of Amys. Being largely self taught she spent time creating pictures for friends and family before setting up her website. Amy also started to become more involved with children’s book illustration which has long been a passion of hers with Twinkle and the Little Red Ball written by P.C Marotta being her first children's book to be published world wide. Inspired by the art work of Quentin Blake, Beatrix Potter and Mairi Hedderwick, Amy uses watercolours to give her pictures a more free flowing feel. She loves using fairytale and fantasy characters in her work and gets ideas from everyday life turning them into something magical with a little bit of imagination.
