After studying at Bath Lane Art College in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in the 1980’s Linda’s art career began to take shape in the studio of Hugh Mackay Carpets, where she created exclusive designs for hotels, ships, leisure facilities and private individuals.
Whilst here she also completed further studies in textile design. After a few years Linda relocated to Yorkshire to join the studio for a large greetings card company, latterly Hallmark UK.
During the seven years here Linda created numerous designs for greetings cards, wrapping paper and stationery products mainly for major retailers such as John Lewis, Sainsbury’s Marks & Spencer and WH Smith. Linda then embarked on a successful freelance career before entering Christian ministry for many years. After a transition in her life Linda started her own greetings card company and then went on to establish Linda Vine Art.
She finds spending time in the open creates divine moments to appreciate something greater. These special times are reflected in the warmth and tranquillity of her paintings.
Now working on a far larger scale creating impressionistic style paintings working mainly in acrylics, she is continuously amazed and inspired by the stunning scenery all around and particularly loves spending time in Northumberland. After many years away from the area latterly Texas, she now lives in the historic City of Durham.
